This guitar actually exceeded my expectations. I am always skeptical buying guitars online but I couldn’t pass up the sale price. First, this guitar is beautiful. I could not find anything wrong with it other than the cheap strings that came on it. The neck is flawless, straight and feels great to play. The frets were level and had no sharp edges. The pickups are vintage and they sound good. It was pretty much set up to go out of the box. I checked the string height (which was a little higher than I like but may be good for you) and put some fresh strings on it. After some minor adjustments to suit my taste, it plays like a dream. It stays in tune very well.Cons: The fretboard was very dirty. I had to scrub it a few times with some cleaner and oil it. Pots are pretty cheap but they do the job. The tone pots don’t cut much of the highs out when dialed back. The frets did need a polish. They were gritty when bending the strings. The pick guard is a green color, not an aged white. I knew that and actually like it. It can always be swapped for a different one. I feel like I got a real gem with this one. It plays and feels as good as my MIM Stratocaster. I don’t get any hum from the pickups. This is my second Eko guitar and they are winning me over. They did have a reputation for letting some lemons leave the factory but I have had a good experience with both of mine. For the price you can’t go wrong. If you want a good comparison guitar, the Squier Classic Vibe 60’s is the closest in terms of sound and feel. I think this would be a great guitar for a beginner to intermediate player, or someone looking for a strat sound for the studio without having to bust the bank. That’s what I bought it for and it will do just that. Hopefully this helps. There isn’t a lot of information about these guitars in the states.
