Coming from a Fender 52 RI set, I bought these to thicken up the thin tone of a Telecaster, which was especially weak on the high E. I was a little wary of the eq, very bassy, but it works really well for blues leads. There is still some bite on the bridge, a lot more girth for driving an OD pedal, and the neck, while not up to Stratocaster class fullness, has a usable tone now, even on the high E. Together in parallel they are really nice tonally, and in series really thick. Only downside, neck is NOT RWRP so you don't get noise cancelling! I will probably replace the bridge for that reason if I can figure out a good tonal match that is reverse from the neck pickup.
